F3 Innovate is the nation’s hub for agrifood technology and engineering.
F3 Innovate is the innovation engine of the F3 Initiative—designed to transform California’s Central Valley into a global hub for agricultural innovation and food security.
It operates in two distinct but interconnected ways: through Research & Development under the broader F3 Initiative, and through commercialization efforts led by our nonprofit arm, F3i (F3 Innovate).
Research & Development

Through strategic university partnerships with UC Merced, Fresno State, and UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR), F3 Innovate supports collaborative R&D that addresses real-world challenges in agriculture. From drought resilience and climate-smart practices to bio-based solutions and supply chain security, our research pipeline is rooted in the Valley and built for global impact.
F3 Innovate (F3i)

F3 Innovate the nonprofit works alongside research institutions, innovators, and industry partners to move ideas faster and further. While much agricultural R&D lives in the lab or pilot phase, F3i exists to bridge the gap between discovery and real-world use.
As a nonprofit, we provide the structure, platform, and connectivity that many
organizations lack, bringing researchers, farmers, startups, funders, and industry to the same table. We move at a speed traditional institutions often can’t, which helps promising innovations get out of the lab and into the field.
F3i is one expression of that work, but it’s part of a broader system we are building. Our infrastructure isn’t just hardware. It’s the programs, partnerships, and processes that support innovation at every stage.

Fund
Developmental capital can unlock real progress. Targeted, flexible funding helps innovations cross critical milestones and de-risk adoption. The Catalyst Fund supplies the capital needed to scale solutions.
