AgTEC Cohorts Launch at Four Local Community Colleges

The AgTEC Workforce Initiative is excited to announce the launch of four new Ag Systems Certificate programs this fall at Reedley, Lemoore, Coalinga, and Merced community colleges. These programs are designed to equip students with the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving agricultural industry. Reedley College has welcomed 30 students, Lemoore has 23, Coalinga has 27, and Merced College has 29 students in their inaugural cohorts, with additional cohorts set to launch in spring 2025 at Fresno City College, Clovis Community College, and Madera Community College.

The Ag Systems Certificate program offers a comprehensive curriculum tailored to the specific needs of the agricultural industry, with courses focusing on digital literacy, precision agriculture, technology integration, and equipment operation. The certificate is built on a Competency-Based Education (CBE) model, which ensures that students progress by demonstrating mastery of real-world skills, rather than completing traditional coursework. This flexible model allows students to advance at their own pace, making it ideal for working adults and individuals looking to upskill in the ag-tech field.

If you’re an employer or student interested in learning more or getting involved, please reach out to Karen Aceves at ARKEN Strategies at info@arkeninc.com for more information on how to participate in this transformative program.
