F3 Local Took Center Stage at Terra Madre Americas

From September 26–28, 2025, Sacramento’s SAFE Credit Union Convention Center was buzzing with energy as over 165,000 attendees from the around the world experienced Terra Madre Americas, an international gathering celebrating food, culture, sustainability, and community. Right at the heart of the action was F3 Local’s vibrant “A Taste of California” Pavilion, which showcased the very best of the Central Valley’s food economy on a global stage.
Packed with food vendors, a live cooking demo kitchen, a photo booth, and interactive exhibits, the pavilion was a major draw for eventgoers from around the world. Visitors sampled local specialties, met Central Valley farmers and food producers, spun a prize wheel, and engaged in kitchen chats that celebrated California’s rich agricultural diversity.

Many vendors sold out of their goods, a testament to the overwhelming excitement and support from attendees. Cooking demonstrations from culinary talents like Gladys Martínez (Nelia’s Birria) and Rosa Hernandez (Mole Viko) brought traditional recipes to life, while sessions like Mas Masumoto’s “Every Bite Matters” inspired deeper conversations about food, culture, and sustainability. In addition to delicious bites and beautiful visuals, the pavilion offered workshops and screenings, including Ed Porter’s film The Food That Fuels. Visitors left with full bellies, inspired minds, and a renewed appreciation for the role that local food systems play in creating a just and thriving economy.
F3 Local was proud to co-host the pavilion alongside a powerhouse group of partners including UC ANR, CAFF, UC SAREP, UC Santa Cruz Center for Agroecology, and others. Together, they lifted up California voices and helped connect Central Valley producers with a global community of changemakers.
