The F3 Innovate Symposium, held on August 30, 2024, at Fresno State’s Wonderful Conference Room in the Jordan Agricultural Research Center, brought together an impressive lineup of faculty researchers and industry experts. We are grateful to Dr. Ram Nunna, Dean of Lyles College of Engineering, for hosting the event, and to Chase Schapansky from GUSS Automation for his insightful presentation on how to effectively market ag research and tailor ag technology for a wider industry audience.
The symposium featured several research presentations, showcasing the vast potential of ag technology. Highlights included Dr. Luca Brillante’s work on hyperspectral imaging for vineyard management, Dr. Alaeddin Bani Milhim’s precision citrus harvesting system, and Dr. Qiao-Hong Chen’s innovative approach to anti-prostate cancer drug discovery from drought-tolerant crops. Attendees also learned about Smart Agricultural Robots (SARDOG), sustainable almond production, and advancements in reducing airborne contaminants in agriculture. As the event wrapped up with discussions around the goals of the F3 Initiative, we are excited to see how this groundbreaking research will continue to shape the future of agriculture in the Central Valley and beyond.
