On Saturday, May 16, students, family members, instructors, and community supporters gathered at Clovis Community College to celebrate a major achievement: the completion of the Ag Systems Certificate program.
The ceremony recognized a cohort of dedicated students who invested their time, energy, and determination to build new skills and expand their opportunities within California’s agricultural industry. For many participants, earning the certificate required balancing work, family responsibilities, and the challenges of returning to school while continuing to support their households.
As Clovis Community College shared in a recent social media post:
“Long workdays. Missed evenings with families. The courage to challenge yourself to learn in a language that isn’t always your own. We celebrated the sacrifices they took to complete this milestone.”
Their achievement represents exactly what the AgTEC Workforce program was designed to support. The Ag Systems Certificate at Clovis Community College, offered through the F3 AgTEC Workforce initiative, helps prepare students for careers in modern agriculture through coursework in agricultural systems, digital literacy, equipment and machinery, livestock management, agricultural safety, and workplace effectiveness. The program is designed for adult learners and is available in both English and Spanish.
