On Wednesday, September 19, 2024, the Central Valley Community Foundation (CVCF) hosted the Friends of the Foundation event at the beautiful Evanelle Vineyards in Madera. The evening was dedicated to celebrating the F3 Initiative, one of the cornerstone efforts of the Fresno DRIVE (Developing the Region’s Inclusive and Vibrant Economy) Initiative, which aims to make the Central Valley a leading hub for sustainable and inclusive ag-tech innovation. This event highlighted the vital connection between the local agricultural community and the work being done through F3 to transform the Valley’s food systems.
Guests were treated to a farm-to-table meal prepared by Trelio, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients, demonstrating F3’s commitment to uplifting local farmers. The night’s panel discussion included insights from F3 partners Harold McClarty of HMC Farms, Lilian Thaoxaochay from GT Florists & Herbs, Luis Alberto Elizondo Macias of Queen Honey, and Rico Peralta from Binational of Central California. Each speaker shared how F3 has directly impacted their work and how the initiative is strengthening the entire agricultural ecosystem in the Valley.
The evening concluded with an outdoor farmers market where guests could take home fresh fruit, agua fresca, and other local products. Special thanks to Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) for coordinating the vendors, creating a vibrant market atmosphere. This memorable event highlighted the powerful collaboration between F3, CVCF, and the Valley’s agricultural community, underscoring the importance of supporting local food systems for a more sustainable future.
