Meet Luis Elizondo, owner of Madera’s Queen Honey and board member of F3 Innovate, a passionate advocate for small farmers and sustainable agriculture in California’s Central Valley. A third-generation beekeeper through his wife’s family, Luis began his business with borrowed equipment and a vision to grow beyond farmers’ markets. Today, his family-run operation produces raw, unfiltered honey sourced from the Valley, while supporting local farms through bee pollination and community partnerships.
With support from the Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) and the F3 Initiative, Luis accessed grant funding through the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) program. These resources have helped him expand his business operations, grow his customer base, and invest in equipment that would otherwise be out of reach for a small producer. Through his role on the F3 Innovate board, Luis also helps shape conversations around the future of agriculture—ensuring that new technologies are not only innovative but also affordable and accessible to small-scale farmers like himself.
