SF-ADAPT Second Meeting

Join our second SF-ADAPT meeting! SF-ADAPT (Small Farm Alliance to Develop Appropriate Technology) is a collaborative alliance that connects small-scale farmers with researchers, nonprofits, and technologists to co-create tools that work on smaller farms. The goal is to ensure that agricultural innovation reflects real-world needs—especially for operations that are often overlooked by mainstream agtech.

Join us for a special session with Dr. Eric Verploegen, lead of the CoolVeg project, as he presents an innovative, low-cost cold storage solution for fruits and vegetables: Forced-Air Evaporative Cooling Chamber.


1:30pm -2pm: SF-ADAPT Updates

  • It's built in a repurposed shipping container

  • Uses less energy than refrigerated cold rooms

  • Creates a cool, humid climate ideal for fruits and vegetables

  • Designed for hot, dry regions with limited electricity

  • Fully open-source and buildable on- or off-grid
