TerraTech applications are officially open for the 2026 cohort of businesses and interns, building on the successes of last year.

Nearly 30% of the pilot cohort has been hired for ongoing roles, showcasing the program’s effectiveness in nurturing talent ready to meet industry demands. This success reflects the high caliber of interns the program cultivates, and the significant contributions they’ve made to various projects.

For those unfamiliar, TerraTech boasts a diverse slate of businesses, organizations, and projects, spanning multiple agricultural sectors and disciplines. The program is enriched by a deep pool of interns drawn from various college programs, eager to make a difference in their communities through the region’s primary economic driver. Their wide-ranging interests in agriculture reflect a commitment to responsible resource management.

With the launch of TerraTech26, F3i is broadening its reach to include community college students. The program will also intensify its focus on sectors like the circular bioeconomy and advanced data analysis techniques. By providing students with cutting-edge skills, TerraTech26 prepares them to address the evolving needs of agriculture while harnessing their creative potential.

Students from that pilot cohort are the first to celebrate such an experience, speaking of how their eyes were opened to the many new fields and opportunities — and intense behind-the-scenes work — in agriculture, how they’re ready to step into these important roles, and how they’re excited to blend their passions for technology with real-world application.

The companies echo this sentiment. Brian MacInnes, senior restoration ecologist, Valley Eco, shared his thoughts on working with the interns.

“The enthusiasm and fresh ideas that interns bring into our projects are invaluable. They push us to explore solutions we may not have considered before,” said MacInnes. “They are catalysts for change, and their contributions make a real difference in our efforts.”

TerraTech26 runs from June 1 to Aug. 7, 2026. The application deadline is May 1, 2026.
